How a game works

Seven steps from table to verdict.

  1. 1

    Sit down

Join friends at a table, or open one and invite them by email or a 5-letter code.

  2. 2

    The story

Before the cards, the moderator tells one of ten opening stories, with pictures and a recorded voice.

  3. 3

    Secret cards

Everyone gets a role card: Rescue Team (Partisans), Gestapo or Neutral.

  4. 4

    Introductions

Each player introduces themselves in turn. On the intro night a few players learn who their allies are.

  5. 5

    Normal phase

Players talk in turns, can shoot, and can call a secret meeting between two players behind a door.

  6. 6

    Emergency

When a shot is fired there is a defence, a vote, and the Doctor can secretly save someone.

  7. 7

    The verdict

The Rescue Team wins if the Pilot survives. The Gestapo win if the Pilot dies.

The build story

From a rescue mission to Google Play.

  1. 1

    The idea

A WWII version of the social-deduction games we already run, with a rescue mission instead of a night phase.

  2. 2

    One web game

A single-page game on a free Firebase backend and Cloudflare Pages hosting, so running costs stay near zero.

  3. 3

    Rules you can trust

The rules run in a small deterministic game engine with an automated rules test suite, so the moderator logic is the same for every player.

  4. 4

    Art and voice

Original AI artwork prepared by Andy Yarahmadi. The moderator voice is recorded with ElevenLabs and passed through one consistent effect chain.

  5. 5

    Android

A native shell (Capacitor) around the live game, full screen and portrait, signed and released on Google Play as version 1.0.3.
